It&#8217;s<br>\nusually referred to as Mirepoix. This mixture of ingredients is the base of<br>\nso many wonderful dishes, and for this mushroom barley soup, it all<br>\nbegins here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>From Ayurvedic point of View:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mushrooms have an earthy flavor like a dark, rich, loamy soil. That<br>\nearthiness is a symbol of the Potential of the mushrooms to hold you<br>\ngrounded and calm your nervous system. They are called \u2018Tamasic\u2019 in<br>\nAyurveda, implying that they make the consciousness sleepy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mushrooms are particularly absorbent minerals in the soil, along with a<br>\nrich nutritional profile, as their earthy flavor indicates. As well as<br>\nmushrooms consume minerals, they even accumulate any toxins<br>\nthey&#8217;re grown in, and have also been used to clean up toxins waste sites.<br>\nThat&#8217;s why you should always consume organic mushrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ayurveda addressed barley as &#8216;Yavam.&#8217; Hot, strong, and pleasant, it is a<br>\ngood laxative and an aphrodisiac and improves stability by clarifying the<br>\npathways because of its specific action. This pacifies urinary tract<br>\ndiseases, corrects fat metabolism, and maintains Pitta and Kapha Dosha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Servings: 7<br>\nTime to Prepare: 30 minutes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-text-color\">Ingredients:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>8oz mushrooms (sliced)<br>\n4 cups vegetable broth (low sodium)<br>\n1\/2 tsp. sage<br>\n1 carrot<br>\n1\/2 onion (diced)<br>\n1\/2 tsp. parsley flakes<br>\n1\/2 tsp. ground black pepper<br>\n1\/2 cup barley (pearled)<br>\n2 celery stalks<br>\n2 tbsp. olive oil<br>\n1\/2 tsp. marjoram<br>\n2 bay leaves<br>\nsalt to taste<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-text-color\">Instructions:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Set the Instant Pot to Saut\u00e9 and add the olive oil. Add carrots,<br>\nonions, and celery when the oil is hot. Saut\u00e9 for 4-5<br>\nminutes until the onions become translucent. Then add the<br>\nmushrooms and continue to Saut\u00e9 for another 3 minutes.<\/li><li>Click the Cancel button to end the Saut\u00e9 process and add the<br>\nvegetable broth. Use a wooden spoon to deglaze the bottom of<br>\nthe Pot (scrape some cooked-on chunks). Add the herbs, barley,<br>\nsalt, and pepper. Stir well.<\/li><li>Lock the lid and cook on a Manual (Pressure Cook) for 20<br>\nminutes.<\/li><li>Let the Natural Release for 10 minutes, and then Quick Release<br>\nthe rest.
