This was before the time of \nPinterest and online recipes, so I had to find a real cookbook. I asked \nmy mom for a cookbook for Christmas and she gave me an Anne of Green \nGables one. It had all the recipes from the movies and in that was an \namazing biscuit and gravy recipe. I decided I would skip out on the \ngravy because all I wanted was buttered biscuits. I bought buttermilk \nfor the first time and threw away the first bottle after I opened it \nbecause I thought it was spoiled and smelled bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After buying a second, I noticed it was the same so I asked and was \ntold that is how it was. Definitely, a lesson learned. I made buttermilk\n biscuits with a 3-inch cutter and baked them until they were light and \nfluffy. It was a yummy treat to enjoy in the afternoon with a cup of \nwarm tea. Lathered with butter, these are wonderful. They are just as \ngood sliced in half with some fruit jelly or cheese. Grease a 9\u00d75 loaf pan with oil.<br> In a bowl, whisk together the first 5 ingredients. Carefully stir in cheese cubes until covered in flour mixture, this will help prevent your cheese sinking to the bottom of your loaf of bread.<br> In a different bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients. Fold the wet mixture into the flour and cheese mixture, stir until just combined, do not over stir. Spread the mixture into the loaf pan.<br> Bake for 45-50 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes and then remove from pan.
